In May 2003 an art competition was organized at “In and Out land”. The children of COMPASS participated with great interest. Maria and Ashna Alam were both prizewinners followed by Aizaan Alam and Rafay Najib for 2nd prize. KFC had launched an environmental friendly campaign to encourage the young generation to love and cherish the enviroment they reside in,which was named FARYAD, which competitively encouraged children to produce something creative highlighting the importance of preserving the environment.
COMPASS along with other normal schools of Lahore participated in this education program. Numerous students, parents, and teachers attended the event. For its effort “COMPASS” was awarded a consolation prize. For our children this was an educational experience and chance to participate along with other normal schools
Mahnoor Monir and Shehrazad Jessawalla participated in Special Olympics in April 2003. Both students participated enthusiastically in different sports. Mahnoor Monir stood second in 50 Meters; Shehrazad Jessawalla participated in three events and stood third in all of them. She was awarded a silver medal for her brilliant performance.
In the Special Olympics every athlete is a winner, as the Special Olympics oath clearly states, “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me brave in the attempt ”.
